A Visit to Bullington Gardens, and Last Days for the Quilt Raffle from From My Carolina Home

Bullington Gardens is a local treasure, not far from our home.  With the raffle of the Sunset Dahlia quilt that I quilted for them coming up, I thought you’d like to have a virtual visit to the public botanical garden on 12 acres that the fundraiser is for.  These photos were taken some time ago, I’ve just not shared them on the blog before now.  Bullington Gardens owned and managed by a partnership of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension & Henderson County Public Schools, along with a lot of volunteers.

Quilting the Sunset Dahlia for Bullington Gardens from From My Carolina Home

The second Dahlia panel is finished, and the colors on this one are so vibrant!  The colorway is called Sunset.  I didn’t have any threads to match the intense colors on this panel, so I went to Beginnings and purchased four Floriani embroidery threads in precisely matched colors.

It was easy to find a good match with the display of over 300 shades and gradations to choose from.  These threads are strong enough for high speed embroidery machines, so I thought they would be fine for the longarm, and they were.  The threads stitched beautifully without breaking.
